We at KUMR are mourning the loss of good friend, colleague, and volunteer extraordinaire, Lorne Boates. He started volunteering when we were still BCMR and soon became a vital member of our board, where he was our treasurer and accountant, and was always ready to help out wherever he was needed. He wrote all of our grant proposals, one successful one being an infrastructure grant from Canada and B.C. and a matching grant from Teck which allowed us to build our underground interpretive area. If there was any complicated paperwork to be done, Lorne handled it easily. He will be missed. RIP, Lorne.
